Community Rules

Last updated: July 20, 2026

DRAFT copy pending legal review — the rules below are enforced as written in the meantime.

Be good to each other

Fur Baby Social is a community for pet owners. Share your pets, cheer for others, and keep it kind. We remove content that includes harassment or bullying, hate, threats or violence (including animal cruelty), nudity or sexual content, spam or scams, or deliberately false and misleading claims.

Messaging

Direct messages are for people who follow each other. If you message someone who doesn't follow you back, they receive a message request showing only your name — your message stays hidden until they accept, and they can decline, block, or report you without ever opening it. All community rules apply inside private messages exactly as they do in the feed.

Members aged 13–17 have restricted messaging: they can only exchange messages with mutual follows and never receive message requests.

Reporting & enforcement

Every post, comment, message, and member can be reported in one or two taps. Reports go to a human review team, which can remove content, cancel message threads, and restrict accounts. We don't read private conversations — when you report a message, the reported message itself is shared with the review team as evidence.

Message retention & deletion

Messages are stored until you delete them. Deleting a message erases its text for everyone, permanently. Deleting your account erases your profile, pets, posts, comments, and your message conversations — including the other side's copy of those threads. Messages removed by moderators are erased the same way. The one exception: when a message has been reported, a snapshot of that message is kept with the report as evidence for as long as the report record is retained.
